FIQWS Course Overview

• This course has two parts: Topic Seminar and Writing Seminar
• Both parts are connected and will have regular interaction between instructors and students
• You’ll receive separate grades for each part, each worth 3 credits (totaling 6 credits)

Writing Seminar

• Learn skills to improve your analytic writing
• Build a writing community with shared values
• Share your writing in class to understand academic writing’s purpose
• Develop a writing process for academic, professional, and personal use

What to Expect

• Regular writing sessions in class
• Feedback from instructors and peers
• Your writing will be the main material for class review
